Why is Joshua Tree National Park so amazing?! It's the trees that this glorious park is named after! These prickly wacky stubs average lifespan is 500 years, but the oldest is calculated to be around 1000 years old. That's 1000 more reasons to love and continue to protect them! If you pass through Joshua Tree while the government is shut down remember to pack out what you pack in. Leave no trace behind! And please, leave the trees alone, they've been there a long time.
